Staffordshire’s JCB Pothole Pro is returning to Tamworth to help crews repair busy local roads.
The machine will return to Tamworth on the 20th January to assist crews with fixing Lichfield Street.
This works will last a week and the Pothole Pro will remove any damaged surface and prepare the road to undergo further surface dressing – a process that prolongs the life of the road by up to 15 years.
The JCB Pothole Pro machine is a unique 3-in-1 machine, designed to help crews repair potholes in an average time of eight minutes.
This is all part of a £50 million investment in maintaining and improving Staffordshire’s highways over the next three years.
Cllr Robert Pritchard said, “I am delighted to get the Pothole Pro to Lichfield Street to begin repairs. This follows works to Coton Lane and Lichfield Road.”
He added: “Following the extensive work by local Conservative Councillors to get more funding for Tamworth, more highways repairs will come in the next month. In February highways crews will start work on Aldergate and Upper Gungate”
Aldergate and Gungate are part of a £1.6m scheme to rebuild the road staring in February.
Activity is not just limited to road repairs, crews have been busy tackling localised flooding following extensive rain and snow around Tamworth.
